One of our clients, a leader in the power generation industry, is looking for a dynamic individual to take up the role of Sales Manager and become a part of their team!
The incumbent will be responsible for designing and implementing a strategic plan that expands company’s customer base and ensure its strong presence in the sub-Saharan African region. Provide leadership to the Sales team in developing prospective project opportunities within the thermal power business in the sub-Saharan African region. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in leading sales teams in the Industrial Power business including servicing of Boilers, Gas and Steam Turbines plant. This role involves frequent travelling to customers in different locations.
Minimum Requirements or other Relevant Qualifications/Experience:
A degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
Formal qualification in business management studies would be advantageous
10 years’ sales experience in the power business
Extensive technical knowledge of power plant including boiler performance, mills, burners and emission control equipment is a prerequisite
Good knowledge of the company”s products is mandatory
International exposure and experience within sub-Saharan countries is desirable
Excellent analytical skills
Excellent communication and negotiation skills (fluent English is essential)
Excellent presentation skills
Knowledge of general commercial aspect including legal and commercial acumen
Ability to calculate payback period/Net Present Value/Cash-Flow
Key Performance Areas:
Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base and ensure strong presence in the sub-Saharan African region
Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
Meet defined objectives, mainly Sales Targets (value & volume), market penetration, price realisation, market share and new applications by successfully leading the sales team
Lead techno-commercial discussions involving project development, bid clarifications, positioning of product features, contract/legal clauses, price negotiations and other relevant direct sales functions
Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team
Liaise with offices in different locations within the Group (Japan, Germany and UK)
Compile and analyse market data on customers, upcoming projects, potential competition, political/economy/social factors
